Throughout Tennessee, the delivery system for MOUD lacks consistency. The programs vary from doctor to doctor and from counselor to counselor. From dosing strategies to length of the maintenance phase of treatment, there are many different opinions. After all, many patients, doctors, and counselors, are fairly new to MOUD. When to taper, how to taper, and if to taper at all, are questions dealt with on a case-by-case basis, bringing individualized treatment planning to a whole new level.
